This poster is of a vintage ad by Rene Vincent. It shows a woman about to finish her golf swing. Watching her are a man and a young caddy. At the top it says "Chamins de fer D'Alsace et de Lorraine." and "Golf Club D'Alsace". At the bottom it says "Selestat, Hautkoenigsbourg" This poster measures approx. 23.5" x 34.5" Rene Vincent (1879 - 1936) was a French art-nouveau painter and illustrator. Little is known of Rene Vincent's personal life, though initially he was well known for his fashion illustrations. Vincent was an automobile fanatic and preceded Geo Ham as the automobile poster artist of his time. Golf is a sport in which players hit a ball into a hole using clubs.
